Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Platter with Cobalt and Gold Handpainted Detailing
This refined Early Modernist porcelain oval serving platter by Royal Crown Derby was realized in England, circa 1820. The center of the piece offers channeled forms resembling a stylized tree with a recessed central cylindrical trunk with arms of the same form extending outwards. The base of trunk connects to a demilune form that is also recessed. A miniature tree with undulating branches is hand-painted in the center of this recessed form in a rich cobalt hue. The border of the plate also features hand painted branch forms in cobalt, while the perimeter is is finished in 24Karat yellow gold decorated with a subtle geometric pattern. It is in excellent vintage condition.
