Midcentury Sterling Silver Decorative Dish with Foliate Tray by J.E. Caldwell Co
Midcentury Sterling Silver Decorative Dish with Foliate Tray by J.E. Caldwell Co
This stunning Art Deco decorative tray was realized by the Philadelphia based fabled American jeweler and producer of fine luxury silver goods, James Emmot Caldwell, since 1839. It features a circular body with concentric circular insets, fitted with two stylized handles with sculptural foliate detailing, suggesting pea plants with pods, leaves and vines. With its austere form and beautiful neoclassical detailing, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically pleasing. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. Excellent condition. Marked on the bottom "Sterling J.E. Caldwell & Co. 314". 372 Grams.
