Midcentury Carved Inuit TOTEM in Birch with Circular Mother-of-Pearl Inlay
Midcentury Carved Inuit TOTEM in Birch with Circular Mother-of-Pearl Inlay
This handcrafted birchwood totem offers a stylized depiction of an inuit man. The facial features, consistent with native carving of this region, recall the style of Japanese kabuki masks. The sculpture has a circular mother-of-pearl inlay in its center and rests on a stone base. It is inscribed on the bottom of the base "Joe Hamilton." This would be a winning acquisition for any collector of Native American/tribal art, or for someone simply looking for a compelling decorative object. Excellent condition.
