Mid-Century Modern Convex Smoked Murano Glass & Chrome Chandelier by Mazzega
This elegant Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- by the storied atelier of Mazzega, circa 1970. The chandelier features a convex form in smoked handblown Murano glass with abstract expressionistic white pigment embedded at the apex as well as a scattering of concave indentations. There are chrome fittings throughout, including the rod and canopy. With its beautiful glass quality, realized by one of the period's great producers, monochromatic palate, and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary.
