Mid-Century Modern Silver Plate Stylized Grape Leaf Decorative Dish
Mid-Century Modern Silver Plate Stylized Grape Leaf Decorative Dish
This refined Mid-Century Modern silver plate decorative dish was realized in the United States circa 1960. Offering the form of a stylized grape leaf with pointed scalloped sides and curving lines throughout the interior representing the veins of the leaf, there are wonderfully whimsical details throughout. In the interior of the dish, there is a cluster of ripe grapes in relief as well as a lady bug (a symbol of good luck) scaling the surface of the leaf. At once, playful, sculptural and decorative, this piece is not only a perfectly functional dish but an objet d'art in its own right that would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It is marked on the bottom "Silver Plate" and is in excellent vintage condition.
