Pair of Art Deco Cream Ceramic Vases w/ Stylized Cloud Motif & Craqueleur finish
This elegant pair of Art Deco ceramic vases were realized in Belgium circa 1930. They feature rectangular volumetric bodies with square bases that cantilever beyond the perimeter of each form. The silhouettes vases are composed of columnar forms separated by channel detailing. The surfaces- executed in a rich cream hue- display a wonderfully even cracqueleur finish and stylized cloud motifs represented by swirling curvilinear amorphic forms. With their economy of form and modernist sensibility, these vases are as versatile as they are aesthetically compelling, blending with any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. While they are perfectly functional vases- ideal for storing flowers- they are also objet d'arts in their own right that promise to add (more than) a touch of sophistication to any surface that they occupy. Excellent vintage condition. Signed "Manufacture Imperial Royale" on their bases.
