Mid Century Modern Organic Textural Murano Glass Vase by Carlo Scarpa for Venini
Mid Century Modern Organic Textural Murano Glass Vase by Carlo Scarpa for Venini
This unusual and stunning Mid Century Modern Murano vase was realized by the esteemed designer Carlo Scarpa for Venini in Italy circa 1960. It features a highly textural volumetric ellipsoid form with a channeled organic exterior surface imbued with 24kt yellow gold flecks lending it a semi opaque quality. Occupying an interesting interstice between transparency and opacity, the glass resembles frozen water. Beautifully (and obviously) crafted by hand by one of the great designers of the period, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate Murano glass objects and fine Mid Century design, in general. Its monochromatic palate and austere silhouette make this piece as versatile as it is aesthetically appealing, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
