This stunning Mid-Century Modernist Equestrian Bronze Relief Plaque signed Franz Mikorey originates from Germany, C.1978. This piece features an irregular format in solid bronze with a gorgeous sculptural relief depicting a horse standing in front of a male figure with balled fists raised in a boxing stance, perhaps pulling at the reins or showing force to another figure. The surface is beautifully handled, vibrant and sculptural with a lovely patination.
