This stunning modernist camer glass sconce was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice- renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. The piece features a conical three tiered wedding cake form offering an abundance of camer quadretti crystals- four pointed translucent Murano glass obelisks with dramatic concave sides. The top tier of crystal are suspended from a demilune chrome band. The piece reprises leitmotifs from Art Deco design- streamlined and skyscraper style forms- and reinterprets them through the prism of modernism. The result is undeniably compelling. With its clean modernist lines and monochromatic palate, this sconce would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The sconce accommodates 5 Candelabra bulbs offering up to 200 watts of light.
