Untitled Abstract Composition signed Zvi Mairovich
Untitled Abstract Composition signed Zvi Mairovich
This Untitled Abstract Composition signed by the Polish Born artist Zvi Mairovich, originating from Haifa Israel, Circa 1950. Features a highly gestural abstracted landscape in hues of muted blue greens, whites, and deep blacks with flashes of reds and yellows peaking through the thickly applied dashes and shapes articulated by the shape of the brush strokes and fluidity of the paint when applied. A beautiful interaction of layering and expressive touch to the paint is evident upon first viewing, a beautiful example of the work of Mairovich, who was chosen to represent Israel at the Venice Bienalle in 1956, 1958, and 1962, among numerous other exhibitions throughout his career. This piece balances peaceful muted colors with a writhing and expressive energy, supported by the warm hues shimmering from beneath the concealing thick black paint. The custom gallery frame is a brown walnut with a off white linen floater. Signed lower right by the artist. This highly expressive and deftly achieved work is sure to style brilliantly in a wide array of interiors and settings, from Classic Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal spaces. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
