Mid-Century Modern Armchair in Hand Rubbed Teak and Holly Hunt Bouclé Fabric
Mid-Century Modern Armchair in Hand Rubbed Teak and Holly Hunt Bouclé Fabric
This refined Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern armchair was realized by the esteemed designer George Tanier in Denmark circa 1960. This piece is a study simplicity of first rate design, and how elemental forms can be combined to a powerful effect (as is often the case in great design). The chair offers an austere architectonic frame consisting of angled cuts of rectangular segments to create a dynamic and compelling form. The back has exposed slats, while the seat sits at a dramatic slope housed within the right angled lines of the legs and arms- all in beautiful teak. The chair has been newly refinished and reupholstered in a luxurious Holly Hunt bouclé and restored to mint condition.
