Mid-Century Modern Ebonized Walnut & Brass Spring-Back Chairs by Hughes Steiner
Mid-Century Modern Ebonized Walnut & Brass Spring-Back Chairs by Hughes Steiner
This refined and elegant pair of Mid-Century Modern spring back chairs were realized by the esteemed designer Hughes Steiner in France circa 1950. They offer a graphic form with a dramatically arched arm rests that descend into straight front legs. The bent wood frames cut at a biased angle to the hind legs where they are adjoined via a solid brass square embellishment- offering a beautiful tonal counterpoint to the ebonized walnut and grisaille tones throughout. Additionally the chairs offer a gently concave back and a subtly rounded seat. With their clean modernist lines and sophisticated color palate, these pieces are as versatile as they are stunning blending perfectly with any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. The chairs have been newly reupholstered in a beautiful slate velvet and restored to mint condition.
