Vintage Coro Ruby Red Duette Camellia Gold Tone Brooch
Vintage Coro Ruby Red Duette Camellia Gold Tone Brooch
This Duette Camellia Brooch by Coro, set designed by Gene Verri was patented in the United States in 1938. From one of the foremost makers of American costume Jewelry in the Early 20th Century, the brooch serves as a gorgeous example of the company's material and craft. It can be worn as a brooch, or by plying the corners of the inner piece can be removed and worn as a pair of matching dress clips. Following the same curve and gently winding into one another, the gold toned floral elements with luscious and well scaled geometric forms gently surround two Cabochon Ruby Centers in toothed Bezels, the shadow of the negative space creating a brilliant depth emphasizing the hue of the Rubies. Featuring Emerald Green enamel detailing on the leafs of each floral element, three Baguette cut citrine Crystals fasten each of the stems totaling six stones across the Brooch. The reverse of the piece is also stunning, the geometric framing nests both elements together and safely stows the dress clip functionality while the piece is being used as a Brooch. Marked Coro Duette and PAT No. 1798867, the brooch weighs a total of 50 grams. This is a bold piece brimming with personality, brilliant for any occasion calling for that extra punch of color and glamour. Excellent Vintage Condition.
