Mid-Century Hunting Scene Brass, Silver & Stone Inlay Box by Salvador Teran
Mid-Century Hunting Scene Brass, Silver & Stone Inlay Box by Salvador Teran
This exquisitely reserved Mid-Century Modernist Brass, Silver, and Stone Inlay Box with Hunting Scene originates from Mexico by the artist Salvador Teran, Circa 1960. Features a dynamic hunting scene depicted in loosely rendered lines rendering human and animal figures, brilliantly referencing the forms and subjects of the earliest expressions of human art, scenes of hunting. Three human figures are depicted in silvered inlays near the bottom left and right of the piece, with a beautifully rendered brass gazelle springing from the upper right corner, all surrounded with a beautifully natural array of earth green and umber stone, precisely surrounding the metal elements and lending a stunning contrast of the gleaming metals and the natural hues and mineral detailing of the inlayed background. Beautifully proportioned with polished brass lining the top of the box, this piece will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
