This elegant and sculptural Mid-Century Modernist Hand-Blown Murano Glass Dish with Bullicante Detailing in Amber originates from Italy, Circa 1950. Features an hourglass silhouette when viewed from above achieved by two subtle lips drawn towards the center of the piece on either elongated side, creating a wave like interior surface which beautifully displays the precision of the bullicante detailing of the vase, a technique involving the regular spacing of minuscule bubbles captured within the body of the glass. Highly elegant and with precise detailing that rewards longer viewing and appreciation, this is an excellent example of the material and aesthetic sensibilities of Mid-Century Modernist glass work.
