Iridescent Favrile Art Glass Gord Form Vase Signed Louis Comfort Tiffany
Iridescent Favrile Art Glass Gord Form Vase Signed Louis Comfort Tiffany
This highly rare and innovative Iridescent Favrile Art Glass Gord Form Vase is by Louis Comfort Tiffany and originates from the United States Circa 1916. This vase is a true gem, with a subtle and elegant gord form profile hand-blown in Favrile art glass, a material invented by Louis Comfort Tiffany for which he won a grand prize at the 1900 Paris Exposition. The iridescent favrile glass is unique for the dynamic variety of hues and being integral into the glass itself as opposed to a reaction taking place only on the surface. Overall the piece castes an alluring golden champagne color, however within the ethereal iridescent surface one views reflections of silvered pinks, blues, and violets, shifting and changing stunningly with variations in the light and surroundings. Etched Signatures and markings on the undersurface of the vase with original sticker denoting the maker. This stunning piece is highly versatile and will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
