Edwardian Sterling Silver Detailed & Etched Glass Insert Vase signed W.W. Wattle
Edwardian Sterling Silver Detailed & Etched Glass Insert Vase signed W.W. Wattle
This beautifully achieved Sterling Silver Vase with Cutout Detailing & Etched Glass Insert signed W.W. Wattles & Sons originates from the United States, Circa 1900. The glass insert has an undulating lip providing a sense of movement and elegance to the piece with floral etched detailing across the surface of the glass. Resting in a sterling silver base formed with extreme precision and dynamic patterning, cutouts undulate with the curvature of the glass and bring graphic attention to the sterling silver, which tapers and then expands with an organic latticework cutout circumscribing the base. Monogramed "L.V." on the sterling base. An elegant and eye catching example of American Silver-work during the early 20th Century, this piece has a stamped signature denoting the maker on the undersurface. Styling well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition. A great example of Edwardian elegance .
