Pair of Hollywood Regency Handcarved Alabaster Lamps w/ Neoclassical Detailing
This elegant pair of Hollywood Regency alabaster table lamps were realized in France circa 1940. Realized in a sumptuous variegated cream hued alabaster, these lamps have been hand carved with a wealth neoclassical details gleaned from ancient Greek design. The circular stepped base ascends into a cylindrical stem with ringed detailing near its apex. The urn form bodies offer stylized acanthus leaf detailing at their nadir; a floral wreath draped across their centers; and greek key detailing towards their top. Additionally, there are ram's head embellishments adorning each side, and a stepped circular bobeche detail at their apex. With their clean modernist lines and beautiful attention to detail, these lamps would be a winning addition to any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition. The lamps come fitted with custom shades.
