Modernist Rectilinear Glass Table Lamp in Frost Blue Craquelure by Robert Rida
Modernist Rectilinear Glass Table Lamp in Frost Blue Craquelure by Robert Rida
This beautiful modernist table lamp was realized by the celebrated contemporary designer Robert Rida in Italy circa 2000. The piece features a volumetric rectilinear form in frosted glass that offers beautiful inflections of acquamarine and a sumptuous craqueleur texture. On a cursory inspection, it appears as though this cracking perhaps happened naturally (as is the case with antiquities, Renaissance paintings, and objects of significant age). A closer look, however, reveals a wealth of coral-like structures meticulously created in miniature and repeated throughout as a decorative motif. Marrying an element of old world design with a modern and minimalist form, this piece is as versatile as it is beautiful, blending perfectly with any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The lamp comes fitted with a new custom shade.
