Pair of Mid-Century Modernist Ice Glass Sconces by J.T. Kalmar
This elegantly subtle pair of Mid-Century Modernist Ice Glass Sconces are by J.T. Kalmar and originate from Austria, Circa 1960. They feature a minimal rectangular profile with a translucent glass shade diffusing light and illuminating the stimulating and dynamic texturing which resembles a frozen and rippling glacial surface. The sconces hang from polished nickel half-spherical fittings at the top of the fixtures, a lovely minimal accent that anchors the pieces without at all distracting from the stunning surface quality and illumination. Founded in 1881 and known to this day as a leading expert in lighting and design, these sconces are brilliant examples of J.T. Kalmar and their commitment to excellence in the field. The pair will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors and design settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal spaces. Newly rewired for American standards, and in Excellent Vintage Condition. They each take a single candelabra based light bulb casting up to 60 watts of light.
