Neoclassical Ornate Brass Framed Mirror W/ Bacchus Motif
Neoclassical Ornate Brass Framed Mirror W/ Bacchus Motif
This uniquely exquisite Neoclassical Ornate Brass Framed Mirror W/Sculptural Baccus & Vine Motif originates from the United States, Circa 1880. Features an arch form central pane of mirror, circumscribed by a chained series of nested wheat. The top crest of the mirror has a neoclassical portrait of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and pleasure, from which the growth and winding series of vines derives a greater sense of place and meaning. The additional detailing of the mirror's frame is composed of series of interwinding curves with illustrious detail and density, featuring stylized leaves and expanding branches all curving into one another and leading around the mirror in a dazzling serpentine dance. Delightfully scaled and in a stunning polished brass, this piece will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Neo-Classical to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors.
