This beautiful Mid Century Modern flush mount chandelier was realized in Czechoslovakia circa 1950. It features a convex domed body with a striated starburst pattern embedded in the glass- consisting of an abundance of rays exploding from the center of the shade. The fastidiously detailing glass shade is secured via a spherical aluminum rivet. Additionally, there is a raised lip in translucent glass at the base of the shade, where it meets the fastening rivet. This flush mount chandelier offers a elegantly apportioned polished chrome band circumscribing the apex of the piece. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful craftsmanship (for which Czechoslovakia was renowned during this period) this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate Mid Century Modern design objects, as well as those with a penchant for unusual and exquisite lighting. It would be well suited for any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. The fixture has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition.
