Art Deco Machine Age Chrome and Ebonized Walnut Torchiere with Milk Glass Shade
Art Deco Machine Age Chrome and Ebonized Walnut Torchiere with Milk Glass Shade
This refined Machine Age Art Deco torchiere was realized in the United States circa 1935. It features a skyscraper style base consisting of alternating tiers of chrome and ebonized walnut. A cylindrical polished chrome stem ascends from the base culminating in a ball and urn form neck (iconic Deco forms) that supports a wide conical milk glass shade. A reeded cylindrical ebonized walnut embellishment sits directly beneath the orbital form. This floor lamp embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of first rate Art Deco objects absolutely adore. With its clean modernist lines and neutral palate, it would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired and is in excellent vintage condition.
American, circa 1935.
