Italian Mid-Century Modern Chrome Andirons by Alessandro Albrizzi
Italian Mid-Century Modern Chrome Andirons by Alessandro Albrizzi
This sophisticated pair of modernist andirons were realized by the esteemed designer Alessandro Albrizzi, in Italy, circa 1970. They feature inverted T-forms consisting of a horizontal band bisected at its center by a vertical band that ascends at an angle towards the L shaped black iron back support. Near its apex, this chrome rectangular bar reverses its trajectory, veering outwards at a similar angle. The two rectangular forms adjoined at perpendicular angles affix to the undulating back support (also in polished chrome) via two circular rivets. Full of verve and aesthetic subtleties, these andirons represent the beauty of Italian Mid Century Modern design at its best. They would be a winning addition to any style of interior. Excellent vintage condition.
