Part of Elsa Peretti iconic Thumbprint collection for Tiffany & Co, this translucent glass decorative dish/ ash tray was designed in 1978, and executed shortly thereafter. Peretti, an Italian fashion model, turned designer and philanthropist started designing for Tiffany & Co in 1974, creating simple, modern silver pieces that attracted a younger generation to the fabled luxury good purveyor. This shallow circular ashtray features a single, slight "thumbprint" indentation in translucent glass. Perfect for holding jewelry, or merely as an accent to a desk or shelf, this dish is a unique collector's piece sure to delight. Signed "Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co." on the rear. Excellent vintage condition.
