Formed entirely of ceramic, they feature a sleek and minimal shape executed in ideal proportions, with the portrait of Lina Cavalieri, a world famous singer and performer. In 1952, years after her death and the height of her career, Piero Fornasetti discovered a 19th-century magazine featuring her face. Captivated by her perfect features, started painting her repeatedly, crafting over 500 different versions. He reimagined Lina as various identities, turning her into animals, a thief, an Arabian princess, a mask, and even a man. Asked why he did this, the late artist confessed, "I don't know. I just started and couldn't stop."
