Mid-Century Henry Spencer Moore Six Reclining Figures Lithograph

$4,475.00

Mid-Century modernist British Henry Spencer Moore (1898 – 1986) six reclining figures lithograph
six reclining figures (C. 48).
Lithograph printed in colors.
Signed in pencil and numbered 44/75.
Measures: 22 1/4″ x 26 ¾.
Frames in a custom gallery style walnut frame with 24-karat yellow gold accent on the front lip. The figures are printed in red, yellow, and green, and each one suggests a future sculpture. The forms are outlined, colored-in and with additional lines and shadows rendered in black and grey. Each one is both a drawing and a potential plan for a sculpture. Six reclining figures presents Moore as both playful, with each figure possibly a model toy, and as a strong draftsman, with the abstractions also possibly representative of imaginary creatures. The piece has some light foxing throughout consistent with the age of the piece. From the Estate of Maxine Pines.
