Single Art Deco Machine Age Up-Light by Walter Von Nessen

$3,475.00

This stunning pair of Art Deco Machine Age skyscraper style up-light is a unique design. It was commissioned by Gilbert Rohde for an apartment he was decorating. Rohde commissioned Walter Von Nessen to execute this piece. It features beautiful skyscraper design form with frosted glass, with accents of brass and black enamel. The cylindrical style tubes are stacked at ascending heights, adding dimension and depth to their skyscraper style Silhouette. These were custom at the time and are one of a kind. We have the documentation about the apartment this was commissioned for, it was in House Beautiful in November 1930.This really exemplifies the Machine Ages influence on Art Deco in America. This example is rare and one of a kind up-light would look wonderful in any room or decor and has been completely rewired.
