An attractive example of the art of the Baga people representing the bust of a woman with prominent breasts on a base, which shows many of the traditional components such as plaited hair, flattened breasts zig zag patterns and brass tags. It is an impressive piece which is finely carved. Bound in leather with intricate detailing and brass studs on its eyes and headdress. These masks are usually worn on the shoulders and symbolizes the joy of living thanks to an abundant harvest. Excellent condition.
